Research Focus: Dr. Adela is an assistant professor in the Dept. of Pharmacy Practice in National Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Guwahati. He obtained his Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad. He did a postdoctoral training at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS- New Delhi) on National Postdoctoral Program-DST SERB. Dr. Adela is interested to find biomarkers to predict the progression of cardiovascular complication among diabetes by doing basic, pre-clinical and clinical research.

My long-term goal is to identify a biomarker to early detect, staging and monitoring the progression of cardiovascular diseases in type 2 diabetes patients and identify a suitable treatment strategy to manage the disease complexity. He has published articles in reputed Journals such as PLoS One, Journal of Inflammation Research, Journal of Diabetic Research, Journal of Translational Medicine and Frontiers in Immunology. He has received Torrent Young investigator Award by International Society of Heart Research (ISHR- Indian Section). He is nominated as Associate Fellow of Andhra Pradesh Academy of Sciences.
