Anupam did his PhD with Prof. Madhu Khullar and Prof. Ajay Bahl at PGIMER, Chandigarh in cardiology. After his PhD, he move to Prof. Shyamal Goswami laboratory, JNU for getting exposure of redox biology in cardiac diseases. He was trained further in Dr. Dhandapany Perundurai lab at inStem, Bengaluru and OHSU, Portland, USA in iPSCs and transgenic animals as model for cardiac diseases

He has major interest in cardiomyopathies, cardiorenal syndrome and congenital heart diseases and cardiac myxoma. His lab majorly works exploring the pathogenesis of these diseases and elucidating small RNAs, circular RNAs as biomarkers

He also utilize pluripotent stem cells for disease modelling, drug repurposing and cardiac toxicity
